7 months to...

...mommyhood!! Yup! We are expecting an addition to the family in mid-May. We are super excited and happy. It feels like we waited forever to start to try for a family, but now when we think about it, the timing really couldn't be better. Ashton just starting his new (permanent) job, in January I will still be ok to fly for our super-awesome family vacation, and everyone says that winter is the best time to be pregnant! No summer heat to deal with. And another thing I am excited about is taking lots of walks on the new, long, paved, trail by our place with a stroller in the spring! :)

So far, I have been quite nauseous - my appetite has been very low for the last month or so, but it is starting to come back now. Watermelon and crackers are my friends. :) At my doctors appointment yesterday I had lost 5 pounds. Yikes! I figure thats a good start! LOL. And I KNOW I will make up for it later!! But how many people can say that their jeans fit BETTER after they got pregnant? (Dont shoot me). LOL

So anyone have any tricks to eating more, OR, more just as importantly, any tricks to staying awake in the afternoons?? I actually fell asleep at work the other day, which I am thinking is not good. But I am so tired!!!

Congrats Melissa!!!! That is wonderful news! I am so happy for you.

The afternoon nap thing...I never found a way to avoid it. Tricks for eating more...small amounts more often worked during the morning sickness phase.

Congratulations!

During the first trimeseter I was in danger of falling asleep at any point during the day...so I'm no help there.

Congratulations, Melissa!!!! How wonderful! I'm very happy for you and Ashton!
No advice for you, except to close your office door and HAVE the nap! You should get all the sleep you can WHILE you can!!

Congrats my friend!!! How exciting for you both. No advice here either, just do like Sue said. Get as much sleep as you can - you'll need it. And for alot of us pregnant women the appetite does come back - WITH A VENGEANCE!!!! And you will want to eat ALL THE TIME!!! Enjoy the next 7 months - it passes all too quickly.

Congratulations Melissa!!! Now you can use all the Winnie The Pooh things that you've been buying!!! ;)

No advice really, except what the others have said - eat little and often of whatever it is you feel like eating, and if you feel sleepy you just have to have a nap! Its your body's way of telling you you need the sleep!

Wow, Melissa!!! I'm so excited for you! I know how much you've waited for this exciting time in your life! I had no sickness during any of my 4 pregnancies so can't help you out there (I know, how lucky). I don't remember if I was tired rofl.....keep notes cause one day you'll be like me and won't remember a thing!! Breathe deep each day and enjoy cause it will be gone in a flash! Wish I could be there to enjoy this new baby! Will be watching for mega photos!!!

Congrats Melissa! No tips for either. I'm just over 4 months and the tiredness still hasn't gone away for me (even though everyone says it goes away in your 2nd trimester!). And they said I haven't gained enough weight so I'm with you on the food. English muffins work well for me. Usually just with margarine on them, nothing else. Hope you're feeling better soon!
